A little random but, my favorite set from the greatest of all time. Richard Pryor’s “Live In Concert.” RIP.

You can say he’s fallen off since “DoggyStyle,” but don’t get it twisted. “Blue Carpet Treatment” was a solid album. To me, Snoop Dogg is a legend in the game. And right now, he’s at that status where he can come with some outlandish shit, and it won’t tarnish his legacy…
For example, peep Snoop’s new single which i’m assuming is going to be on his new album. Shouts to Febrio for putting me up on this…
Snoop Dogg – “Sensual Seduction”
Yeah he’s singing. Yeah he’s got the Roger Troutman “talk box” thing. Yeah he’s using a Key-Tar. How can you front on this video?…
Say what you will about The Doggfather, but you can’t front on his longevity…
So to Snoop, I raise my pimp glass, fix my hair in the mirror and say “Chuuuch!”
Yeah we’re all fools for that good timeless music. 70’s, 80’s, present-day, in all shapes and form. You should see NBA’s extensive collection of Michael Franks vinyls and cd’s, by the way. I use to think they were just for sampling but now I’m starting to wonder. They have that whole collection and I haven’t received one Michael Franks-driven beat yet.
This was pulled from Febby’s collection and yes, that sample is where you think it’s from. It’s songs like these that are stacked in the playlist. Songs that can define that moment you’re living in when you throw ‘em on. Think of it like pairing food and wine, but instead it’s that timeless music and that situation. Like my man Cellus told me, as nice as he is, “you can’t conceptualize to Lil’ Wayne.” Amen.
Take for example we had a collection of songs for our recent vacay to Hawaii (see: “Summer Madness”)
Now that, with a cold drink, on a sandy beach is just money if I do say so myself. Imagine that.
But right now it’s time for the “Evelyn King’s” and the snugglebunny/winter season songs no homo, so throw em at me if you got ‘em.
Pulled from the archives; Rae’s daily account of South Beach living:
…paradise. As the young lady who resembles Shakira kindly lit my Cohiba, the sounds of the caribbean created a relaxing yet exiting ambiance. I invited myself to an ice cold corona which helped cool my body from this humid, south beach weather. The people here are quite friendly and laidback. They are also hugely diverse, making it difficult to remember what tropical island I am really on. I thought to myself, “silly fool. This is no island, this is Miami.”
I ventured on over the tiny grass hill to see what secrets may be unovered. Ahh yes. Sand so white I was pleased to have brought my Louie Vuitton shades along(really they where polo, but its for the sake of the story). For a moment there I thought that I had gone blind. To my surprise, there was a lady in her mid-twenties twiddling around topless. I yelled out “yo that b!tch is naked!”
Nick replied “stop playin!”
“naw, she is, she is! And there’s another and…another! Oh God, I love Miami!!!
All I know is I wanna visit South Beach, and that Rae tells stories like an award-winning author for some reason. Also shout out to everyone who went out to Hollywood to catch ol’boy on-stage at Apl.D.Ap’s benefit show. Much love.
Also Rob’s nomination for best hip-hop song of all time.
Hard to disagree with that.

Latley I’ve been knocking this song on repeat, and in full-blast mode while in the car. “When the world got too much and you pleaded with me. Who helped you immediately?…” I mean– just ouch to the whole 3rd verse while I’m at it.

Ay say, baby. On a couple slightly related notes; Call of Duty 4 is the new crack (BFF Clan, ya dig) and Jollibee is now open 24 hours.
Shweeeet.
So someone told us we just had to watch this video but they didn’t tell us what it was about…

Judging by the reactions, you probably know what video it was we were watching. If you don’t, I’m envious of you. If you do, then you should brush your teef right now.
The best part was whoever screamed at the end like it was a horror-flick. Whoever it was sounded mad startled.
Something good (karma) is coming…
To say the least it was a productive day. Probably the most productive since we put down most of Brilliance Makes Billions in one week at Dirty’s house.
We had a chance to get into the lab and throw some ideas around in that professional ambiance. And if I could spend all of my days around that, the beats and the board, then truth be told I’d be a happy man. At the end of the day we put down I think 6 songs total so you know, we carpe diem’d the whole thing. The upcoming Swagmatic EP might have to turn into The Swagmatic LP when it’s all said and done.
Swagmatic, Swagmatic, Swagmatic. Can’t say it enough. Be on the look out.
I said, something good is coming.
This blog-entry gets the Dirty D stamp of approval.

Taking over the business card game.

What can I say. Just make music while you’re here.
Shout out to DJ Cutso too. Sorry we couldn’t make it out to Voodoo Lounge, but we’ll be there next time. The Swagmatic EP, our follow-up to Brilliance Makes Billions Volume 1 will be coming at y’all sooner than you think. Stay tuned.
